From The East: April 2019

Brethren,
Greetings from the East, and as I write this message, Spring is officially here by the calendar date, but the chilly winds still hearken back to Winter. The upside is that Spring flooding from the melting massive winter snowfall has been delayed. Please be safe and consider helping out those who will no doubt be affected by flooding as temperatures rise.

We were pleased to initiate a new Brother at our March Regular Meeting. Thank
you Brother for placing your confidence in Ionic Lodge as you begin what I am sure will be a thought-provoking and memorable life journey.

This was also a Step-up Night for your Officers and I am very proud of the display of perfection on then part of all the Brethren who participated as Officers
and/or ritualists. I am confident that the Lodge will be in good hands with our Officers as they progress through elections and Installation over the next two
months.

While we would like to rest on our laurels, there is still much work to be done. Some of the events include the Joint Ashlar / Ionic 2nd Degree on a worthy Candidate from Ashlar Lodge at our April 10 Regular Meeting; the April 07 District Divine Service in Arnprior’s Grace St. Andrew’s United Church (details elsewhere in this Summons); the Ceremony of Extinguishing the Lights at Dalhousie Lodge on April 23; our hosting of the Six Lodges Visit on Thursday, April 25; and, the Grand Master’s Reception on Saturday May 04 at the Centurion Conference & Event Centre. Please contact us here for tickets. Ionic will also co-host the OMA Spring Assembly on Tuesday, April 30 with presentations by Bro. Devon Valentine and R.W. Bro. John Forster.

The Committee of General Purposes will meet on Sunday, April 07, 2019 at 7:00 pm. All Ionic Brethren are welcome. The Meeting will be followed by a practice for the upcoming FC degree to be presented at our Regular Meeting on April 10,
2019.

If any of the Brethren are ill or in need please notify Bro. Secretary or myself.
We look forward to seeing you in Lodge.

Randy Gaw, WM
