From the East: December 2018

Brethren,

Greetings from the East, as we settle in for a busy winter season. A number of Official Visits have taken place and more will follow – please see elsewhere in this summons for further information. A good number of Brethren assisted in the transfer of the Traveling Gavel to Defenders Lodge on November 7, thanks to all who attended.

On November 14, Ionic Lodge did itself proud with a very special evening to welcome R.W. Bro. Kenneth Brinston – District Deputy Grand Master – Ottawa District 2, on his Official Visit. It began with a wonderful Festive Board prepared by JW Jason Buelow with creative flair provided by Bro. Devon Valentine. It continued in Lodge with excellence in the reception of the DDGM, GL Officers and Masters. And it concluded with our annual Memorial Service and a sensitive, solemn and thought-provoking research presentation by W. Bro. Mark Paine on the first Master of Ionic Lodge W. Bro. Thomas Sanders, who lost a son in the Great War. Thank you W. Bro. Paine.

Please note on December 12 at our Regular Meeting we will be initiating a worthy candidate. A 1st Degree Practice will take place Sunday, December 09, after our CGP Meeting.

Plans are well under way for our Annual Ionic Holiday Party on Sunday, December 16. A poster is attached to the email summons, but please note the following:
